Inspection Service
With each inspection:
t  Check the use by date of the first aid kit.
t  Ask the customer if he wishes a wiper blade change.
t  Ask the customer if he wishes a topping up of the washer fluid (cleaning and antifreeze agent).
t  Inform the customer about any defects which were found during the inspection.

Every 2 years
–  Change brake fluid
 → Chapter
–  Clean the air filter housing and replace the air filter element (or every 60 000 km)
 → Chapter
Every 4 years
–  Replace filling for brakedown set (if available)
 → Chapter
Every 90 000 km
–  Replace the toothed belt and the tensioning pulley (PD Diesel engines up to 07. 2003)
 → Chapter
At 90 000 km and then every 30 000 km after that
–  Inspect the toothed belt for the camshaft drive on 4-cylinder petrol engines
→ Chapter
–  Interrogate ash mass of diesel particle filter

Every 120 000 km
–  Replace diesel particle filter

–  Replace the timing belt and tensioning pulley (6-cylinder petrol engine)

–  Replace timing belt for camshaft drive and timing belt for injection pump drive and tensioning pulley 059 109 243 L (6-cylinder diesel engine)

–  Replace the toothed belt for the camshaft drive (PD Diesel engine as of 08. 2003)

–  Additive change in additive container: suction off and replenish with new additive

–  Replace timing belt (1.8 ltr. petrol engines)

Exhaust-emission analysis (EEA): Expiry date - see EEA tag on the vehicle identification plate (only valid for some countries)  
–  Interrogate fault memory of all systems, if necessary erase

–  Reset service interval display

–  Conduct a visual inspection of the airbag units for external damage
 → Chapter
–  Inspect operation of all switches, all electrical components, controls and gauges/indicators for proper operation

–  Lubricate the door arrester and hinged lock for the front flap
  
–  Lubricate the tailgate hinges

–  Inspect operation of tilting roof and grease the runners

–  Visual inspection of engine and parts in the engine compartment for leaks and damage

–  Check the anti-freeze in the cooling system and record ...... °C, check for leaks, top up coolant if necessary

–  Inspect brake fluid level and top up with brake fluid if necessary

–  Windscreen wiper and washer system: Inspect proper function and condition of the windscreen wiper blades. Windscreen washer system: Inspect proper operation, set if necessary and top up with washer fluid

–  Inspect plenum chamber for dirt, clean if necessary

–  Check windscreen for damage
  
–  Replace dust and pollen filter

–  Check headlights, adjust if necessary

Fill in new oil

–  Replace the fuel filter (6-cylinder diesel engine with diesel fuel operation according to DIN EN 590 standard)

–  Check the timing belt for camshaft drive and injection pump drive (6 cylinder diesel engine)

–  Check the V-ribbed belt - every 60.000 km.
 → Chapter
–  Replace the fuel filter (for diesel engines with diesel fuel operation according to DIN EN 590) - every 60 000 km
 → Chapter
–  Replace spark plugs - every 60 000 km or 4 years
 → Chapter
–  Check the oil level in the power-assisted steering system - every 60.000 km
 → Chapter
–  Check ATF level and ATF quality in the automatic gearbox, if necessary top up with ATF or change - every 60 000 km
 → Chapter
–  Change ATF and replace ATF strainer (automatic gearbox) - every 60 000 km → Remark

–  Check oil level and oil quality in the final drive of the automatic gearbox, if necessary top up or change - every 60 000 km
 → Chapter
–  Replace the air filter insert and clean the housing - every 60.000 km or 2 years
→ Chapter
After each inspection  
–  Affix the sticker „Next Service Date“ to the side of the dash panel (driver's side) and enter the next service date that is according to the indicator or the time and kilometer schedule (also the date for changing the brake fluid)
  
–  Perform a test drive
 → Chapter
–  Complete and attach service mirror tag to the interior rear-view mirror
  
–  Hand customer the completed and signed form
