Windscreen wiper and washer system: Check for proper operation
Fluid in windscreen washer fluid reservoir
The windscreen washer fluid reservoir must be filled up to the brim.
  Note
t  If it is necessary to add fluid, always mix windscreen cleaner to the water (in summer) or antifreeze agent (in the winter).
t  If the vehicle is fitted with a headlight washing system and the headlights have plastic lenses (out of polycarbonate), one must only use fluids which do not damage the polycarbonate.
Spray nozzles of the windscreen washer system:
The windscreen washer system (set by the manufacturer) can be subsequently altered -arrow-.
    
–  The water spray should strike the windscreen in a cone-shaped pattern.
  Note
t  If the spray flows out unevenly, adjust the spray nozzle.
t  If the spray nozzle cannot be adjusted, it has to be replaced (repair measure).
Windscreen wiper arms of the windscreen: Check rest position, adjust if necessary

–  Adjust the wiper arms as shown in the figure.
–  Observe the dimension -a- (25 mm)
Tightening torque for the windscreen wiper nut is 20 Nm.
Replacing the windscreen wiper blades
–  Fold away windscreen wiper arm and align the wiper blade horizontally.
–  Press on the flexible part of the support and at the same time press the wiper blade carefully in the direction of the windscreen, while doing so the wiper blade is loosened.
–  Push the new wiper blade onto the windscreen wiper arm. The flexible part of the support must click into place audibly.
–  Check whether the wiper blade is correctly attached.
–  Fold back the windscreen wiper arms onto the windscreen.
